What Monal Radar does

Monal Radar is a research tool for YouTube creators. It analyzes publicly available YouTube channel and video statistics across a market niche, and, only for creators who explicitly connect their own channel, private channel analytics, to recommend what to make next.

Who can use Monal Radar

Monal Radar is a professional tool intended for creators, studios, and businesses. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or connect a channel. We do not knowingly create accounts for, or collect personal information from, anyone under 18. If you are under 18, please do not use the service; if we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete it.

Information we collect

Account information: your email address and name when you create an account, and your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google.

Session cookies: a signed cookie that keeps you logged in. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Site analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how the app is used: pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location from your IP address. With Google Signals enabled, Google Analytics also provides general demographic and interest information (such as age range, gender, and interest categories) in aggregate, to help us understand our audience. It sets first-party cookies (_ga). We send it no account details and none of your YouTube or channel data. You can opt out at any time using Google's browser opt-out add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

Public YouTube data: channel and video statistics retrieved via YouTube API Services (subscriber counts, view counts, titles, thumbnails, and similar public metadata). This is public information about channels, not about you.

Connected-channel analytics (optional): if a channel owner links their channel via Google OAuth, we retrieve read-only YouTube Analytics data for that channel (daily views, watch time, subscriber changes, traffic sources, top videos). We never receive your Google password, and linking is read-only.

Optimize, updating your own videos (optional, separate permission): only if you separately allow it, Monal Radar can change the title, description, and tags of your own videos, and only when you press Push after reviewing each change. To do this we read your uploads (including private and unlisted ones) through your own connection, and we keep a record of every change (what it replaced and what it became) so you can undo it and see whether it worked. We never upload, delete, or change anything else. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your Google security settings.

Usage data: basic logs of feature use and API consumption, for operating and securing the service.

YouTube API Services

Monal Radar uses YouTube API Services. By using the app you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

If you have connected your channel, you can revoke Monal Radar's access at any time from your Google security settings, or by using Unlink inside the app, which deletes the stored OAuth token immediately.

Monal Radar's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Concretely: we use your YouTube Analytics data only to provide the features you see in the product, we never sell or transfer it, we never use it for advertising, and no human reads it except with your explicit permission for support or where the law requires it.

How we use information

• To provide the product: market rankings, change detection, digests, video plans, and channel insights.
• To generate AI analysis: relevant channel statistics and (for connected channels) aggregate analytics are processed by Anthropic's Claude models to produce digests, plans, and recommendations. This data is not used to train those models under our API terms.
• To secure and operate the service (authentication, abuse prevention, debugging).

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal information, ever.
• We do not collect data from or about viewers. Monal Radar is a professional tool for creators and studios: we store public channel- and video-level statistics, and, for linked channels, the channel owner's own aggregate analytics. Never any information about individual viewers.
• We do not show ads or share data with advertisers.
• Other users can never see your connected channel's private analytics. Each linked channel's data is readable only by the account that linked it.

Service providers and international transfers

We rely on a small set of processors to run the service: Render (hosting), Google / YouTube API Services (data source and sign-in), and Anthropic (AI analysis). Each receives only what is necessary to perform its function.

These providers operate outside India, including in the United States. Where your personal information is processed outside India, we rely on appropriate contractual and security safeguards with these providers. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act permits such transfers except to countries specifically restricted by the Government of India.

Data retention & deletion

• Public market statistics are retained as historical time-series; that longitudinal record is the product's core function.
• Connected-channel analytics are retained while the channel stays linked. Unlink (My channel → ••• → Unlink Google) deletes the stored access token immediately and stops any further collection.
• Delete your account yourself, at any time: Settings → Delete account. This happens straight away and removes your login, profile, saved plans and ideas, generated drafts, your channel link (with the token revoked at Google), and every piece of analytics we imported for your channel (daily statistics, search terms, traffic sources, retention, subscriber and playlist reports), and Optimize's copy of your uploads and its record of your changes.
• Prefer us to do it? Email hello@monaldigital.com from the account's address and we action deletions within 30 days.

Security

Passwords are stored only as salted scrypt hashes; sessions use signed HTTP-only cookies; OAuth tokens are held server-side and never exposed to the browser; all traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Most of these you can do yourself inside the app; for anything else, email hello@monaldigital.com. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have rights under the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Grievance Officer

In accordance with India's Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may contact our Grievance Officer with any concern or complaint about how your personal information is handled:

We acknowledge complaints promptly and aim to resolve them within a reasonable time.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and its effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
